Saint Mark's Church
Saint Mark's is a community that gathers in faith, serves in love and proclaims hope, through Jesus Christ.
We are a parish community learning to live and grow in the love of Jesus Christ. We aim to be a place where all people can encounter the love and peace of the living God. As an Episcopal parish that values its catholic heritage, at Saint Mark's you will find rich worship, sacramental spirituality, and a strong commitment to the care of those who are in need.
We are pilgrims traveling by faith to know God better, to know ourselves better, and to become the people God created us to be.
We welcome you to travel with us whether your own journey has just begun or has been under way for many years.
We invite you to visit us to worship, pray and sing, to learn with us and to help us as we help our neighbors.
St. James School
St. James School is more than a middle school. We are committed to walking alongside graduates through high school and beyond—providing counseling, tutoring, mentoring and all the tools they need to succeed. Learning does not stop in mid-afternoon—with 10-11 hours of programming a day, Saturday school twice a month, and a school year that stretches until the end of July.
While our focus is on a students’ academic needs, their emotional, physical and spiritual health is just as important, St. James School provides: an experienced chef who makes inspired, healthy family-style meals; an onsite nurse practitioner; a team of trained mental health professionals who help students work through trauma and other adversity; a full-time chaplain; extraordinary teachers and staff who are committed to going above and beyond every day.
St. James community members collect and deliver clothes and food to families who are struggling to make ends meet. With the investment of a wide network of donors, volunteers and friends, we see every day the incredible impact we are having here in North Philadelphia.
